Answers: is it Glucagon ,, Cortisol ,, or Thyroxine ??
It is Cortisol. (I asked my wife, shes a C.M.T :)
Cortisol is the corticosteroid hormone produced by the adrenal cortex (in the adrenal gland). It is a vital hormone that is often referred to as the "stress hormone" as it is involved in the response to stress. It increases blood pressure, blood sugar levels and has an immunosuppressive action.
There are three hormones that elevate our blood glucose levels.
1. glucagon works when blood glucose level begins to fall. It mobilizes glycogen stored in muscles and liver to become glucose.
2. gluco-cortisols
3. adrenalin
The last two are second line hyperglycemic hormones, and they work particularly in stress conditions, both physically and mentally.
