Callous remover ruined my feet...what do I do now?!

Question: I had major callous's on my feet so I used a callous remover, which was like a shaving razor. Well now I have smooth callous's with lots of cracks on them. The cracks are annoying but now their bleeding. I've used lots of lotion, tried vasoline and it didn't do a freakin thing except make my feet feel gross. I've had it for omost a year now and I HATE doctors so I really don't want to go that route. I have this stuff called "Zim's crack creme" that belongs to my dad and it burns! Does anyone know of anything that will make my feet better and not hurt??

Yes - razors do nothing but create more problems. I agree with your first answer. Soaking is great - use Epsom Salts in warm water and soak soak soak. Then using a sanding type file (gently - but daily or every other day) will eventually help relieve
your aching feet. You can sometimes use your fingernail to gently scrape away alot of the dead skin after you soak. You should then follow that with a really emollient foot cream. Rub it into your feet paying extra attention to your heels and other callouses. If you can stand it use extra cream and wear cotton socks overnite. Then stay away from all razor type things. Not only do they create these types of problems, they are dangerous and can cause many types of infections. So not worth it!!

You used "something like a shaving razor"!?!
What I use --ONLY after thoroughly soaking in hot/warm water until my skin is softened-- is like an emory board. The thickest won't come off all the way on the first 'sanding'. The thinner ones can be scraped off with a strong thumbnail, when FIRST SOFTENED THOROUGHLY, through to the live skin...

I'm surprised the Vaseline didn't work. My feet were horrible a couple of weeks ago.I had cracks too.
I put a thick layer of Vaseline on my heels and put socks before I went to bed, and after I take a shower. Then every couple days file them with this thing that looks like a cheese grater (sp) with smaller holes. And now they are back to normal.
