Possible to have Strep Throat and the Flu at the same time?!

Question: Im pretty sure I have strept throat as I am way familiar with the symtoms...i pretty much have chronic strept throat.

however this time, I am experiencing fatique and muscle weakness and flu symptoms such as diarhea and stomache pains (no throwing up yet).

Could I have both at the same time...or could this be additional symptoms of strep throat?

of course you can have two issues at once. the bacteria that causes strep lowers your resistance leaving you vulnerable to whatever happens to be going around. Suggest you see your doctor, get tested and treated for the strep, and then go home until you are well so you don't spread the virus you may have around.

You could have both as they are caused by 2 completely different viruses.

Yes, it's absolutely possible to have both. They're both caused by different things. Strep Throat is caused by a bacteria, so your doctor can give you an antibiotic to clear it up quickly.

However, the true flu, for which people get the flu vaccine, is caused by a virus. The flu typically does not cause what you say are "flu symptoms" like stomach pains or nausea. It's a congested, runny nose, high fever kind of affair. So you've got something else there.
