Lactose intolerance - detailed symptoms?!

Question: My best friend is a doctor and calls it a 'women's magazine' diagnosis. A few people, especially babies, are genuinely lactose intolerant. Lactose is a naturally occurring sugar, found in milk and milk products such as yoghurt and cheese.
Lactose intolerance usually causes gastro-intestinal upset with symptoms like diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting, and sometimes rashes
lt's pretty trendy these days to be lactose intolerant but a lot of people who think they are simply eat a very poor diet (or huge amounts of fatty food) which can cause the same symptoms.
Those who truly ARE lactose-intolerant can get relief by switching to soya milk and soya-milk products. You can get a good range of things like shakes and yoghurts in health food shops, and soya milk is available in all the main supermarkets.
