Question: Were those tests not done before your chemotherapy? Usually are, so a "before and after" comparison can be made.
CT scans are fancy xrays that give very good detail about the structure of interest in your body. They cannot tell you for instance if a lump or tumor that is present is alive or dead tissue though (sometimes treated cancer cells don't disappear, but they do die, leaving a dead lump of tissue behind). A PET scan can help tell that. A PET scan is like a long CT scan (much longer!). The two together are about as good as it gets with cancer imaging, and should help your doc know what is best to do next.
