Does yoga help asthma? How? Any success stories?!
Question: I would imagine the increased exercise level and practice of controlled, relaxed breathing from yoga would be very beneficial. It also encourages relaxation, which can be very hard if your asthma is flaring up. We are always encouraging exercise for our asthmatics, because it keeps them stronger and more fit. Although I have been an RT for many years now, and have given just about every asthma medication known to man, I strongly believe in adjunct therapies -- there is a lot to be said for the effects of diet, exercise, and "non-traditional" therapies when used in combination with standard Western medicine. Good luck, if you're considering trying it out! Even if it doesn't help your asthma, your body as a whole will thank you for it!

Yoga may help you get proper blood and air flow throughout your body - but it is not the only thing that can help with Asthma.
