Mitochondria, how can it be diagnosed in children and not be correlated at M.R?!

Question: I believe the only way that mitochondrial diseases can be detected is by doing a muscle biopsy. My daughter has had two of them done to determine if she has any mitochondrial disease/disorders.
As far as M.R. I am sorry, I am not sure what that is referring to.
I hope this helps.

Mitochondria (mitocondrian singular) are the battery packs of the cell. They provide the energy for the cell to work. They are also in charge of purifying the energy they create. They are really power plants for the cell. That means that, like every other part of the cell, they are vital to the cell's success and survival of the cell.
