Does anyone ever think about this?!
Question: What would be the advantages of the American Cancer Society or other such organizations...World Vision.....Muscular Distrophy Assn...etc....to find the cure/s for cancer, hunger, or other diesases and illnesses? While I am sure it would be great for science and health, I wonder what advantage these orgs. specifically would have by putting money towards a cure...as they are paid tons of money and have jobs b/c there is no cure.
My mom, a cancer doctor who died of colon cancer, used to frequently tell us how the ACS would not fund research on promising drugs or would not suppot the hospital admin. concering drugs that had been previously successful. Others in the mdical field have also told me of their difficulties in getting orgs. to research or back promising drugs. I just wonder, truly, what is their business' benefit for finding a cure?

If they told wethere there was a cure for cancer or anything else the Drs and drug comapnies would not make any money. A friend of mine & I where talkiong about this a few weeks ago ad the Drs would not have patients and the drug companes would hurt also..they have been researching cancer how long I will e 43 thimonth you would think that they would know something close by now...............
They do aspire to cure disease - they aren't looking to keep themselves employed....

The march of dimes was created by none other than President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who as victim of polio, decided it was time to find a cure for it....they did, and now the mission of the march of dimes is to help prevent as many birth defects as possible.
I hate to tell you this, but its not the ACS that funds research. Government groups like the NIH do....And they are rather generous if an idea is well backed theorhetically.
There is no agenda to keep sick people sick....
i have thought this for a long time. it is all comes down to money. the everloving dollar. your preception was correct, they don't want a cure there are making to much money trying to keep them alive.
