Crohn's disease and pregnancy... Advice or warnings...?!


Question: My sister in law was diagnosed with Crohn's and was advised that pregnacy would be viable however without taking her meds. Anyone with this disease please shed some light for me, thanks.

Is she already pregnant? If not, I would advise against her getting pregnant since she is a carrier of the genetic disease. Any male offspring would certainly have it, and the females would be at risk. As you probably know, Crohn's is a horrible disease. I wouldn't procreate if I knew my children had a chance of getting it.
