How Can I Cure My Insomnia...?!

Question: I find by the end of the day, although I'm tired, my mind is still very active which causes me to lie in bed awake. It's very annoying. How can I cure my insomnia and get a good night's sleep?

THere are lots of things you can try.

Regular exercise (not too close to bedtime) really helps your sleep. It makes you feel nice & exhausted.

Cut back on caffeine, especially in t he afternoon.

Try keeping pen and paper next to your bed. If you lie in bed worrying, write it all down on the piece of paper, and tell yourself that you'll handle it in the morning.

Do relaxing stuff at bedtime. Take a warm shower or bath, drink some herbal tea, do some reading, watch something really boring on TV. Sitting in front of the computer or watching exciting stuff on TV will just get your brain revved up.

If you have to be ready to leave early in the morning, get everything organised during the evening - lay out your clothes, pack your back, make your lunch, organise your children's things, set the table for breakfast, write a list to remind yourself what needs to be done in the morning, whatever else you need to do. Then go to bed knowing that you don't even have to think when you get up.

There are herbal insomnia remedies you can try, like valerian.

Good luck xx

meditation, pranayam.
tire yourself out physically.
warm milk and calcium tablets.
