Question: Aphasia is loss of speech. There are different types of aphasia that can occur. If Broca area was affected by a stroke would the content of the spoken word be affected or would the ability to pronounce the words be affected?

I always just remember that Broca starts the same as "broken"--if Broca's area is affected by a stroke, the speech quantity will be impoverished, with short, awkward sentences and few words.
A stroke in Wernicke's area produces a "fluent aphasia"--speech quantity is normal, but non-sensical.
