Does working out make Pectus Excavatum worse?!


Question: I have a guy friend who has Pectus Excavtum, and has been trying to work out to make it less noticable. I'v heard that working out just makes it look worse....

It shouldn't make the bony defect worse as such. If you build up your pecs however the depression may appear more prominent relative to the increase in muscle mass.

if the muscle tissue becomes more prominent it can make it more apparent not more worse

It may make it more prominent, but overall development of chest muscles should cover it. For keeping fit he should go ahead and see.
