With Mild Asthma, Can I Still Get an Attack?!

Question: With Mild Asthma, Can I Still Get an Attack!?
Well, I know I shouldn't be here but I'm 10 years old, and I've recently been diagnosed with mild asthma, my question is with mild asthma, can I still get asthma attacks, because sometimes, I haven't been able to breath for about 30 seconds, but I can only take my puffer 1 time a day, and that's usually around 8:00 but it's usually before that time, my mom never believes me when I say "mom, could it be possible I'm having a mild attack!?" I always want to go to the hospital, but she never believes me, all she says is "You always say it's hard to breathe" and my parents are split up, my dad lives 5 mins away but my mom says not to bother calling, so what should I all do here!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

An asthma attack is just when it's hard for you to breathe!. The period of time when it's hard for you to breathe, is the attack part!. Some people only take their inhalers when they have an attack!. Some people use a different kind of inhaler to prevent having attacks!. What medication do you use!? Also, after that 30 seconds, does the breathing get better right away!?

Have you ever heard of Hyperventilation!? It's caused
by breathing that is deeper and more rapid than normal!. It causes a decrease in the amount of a gas in the blood (called carbon dioxide or CO2)!. And can lead to shortness of breath!.
Sometimes this is caused by stress!. This is different than asthma!.

What you need is a peak flow meter!. That will tell you if you're having an asthma attack or not!. Go to the doctor and tell him you want one!. He will tell you how to use it!. It's very simple, you just blow into the little device and see how far it goes up!.
If it doesn't go up very far, you're probably having an asthma attack!.

Well, if your mom won't listen, I think you should call your dad or maybe someone at school, like someone has already mentioned !.!.!.!.!.tell the school nurse!.

Maybe you should show your mom these answers so she will know you are serious and that other people think you have asked an important question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you can still get an asthma attack!. Talk to your school nurse if your mom won't listen and tell her you're worried about having an attack and want a "rescue inhaler!." It's for use in case of an attack, and can be used more than once a day if necessary!. You probably won't need it most days, but it should at least help you feel safer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have asthma!.
You can get an attack no matter what!.
Whether you got a big case of asthma or something like you almost never have to use an inhaler!.
Asthma attacks come and go depending on the type you have!. If you take albuteral you shouldnt take that in the morning!. Advair is meant for morning lunch time and before you go to bed!.
If its hard to breathe all the time just go to your doctor first!. Its not such a big deal unless you cant breathe at all and you cant talk!. Your doctor will most likely prescribe a stronger medication an more kinds!.
Thats what happened with me!. Talk to your mom and tell you want a doctor appointment as soon as possible!.
Im sure she'll listen!.
Good luck! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

hi KK, yes hon, with mild asthma you still can have attacks!.Are you using a nebulizer & suggest your mom take you to the Dr & he may rx Advair or Spiriva to make your breathing easier!.!.

Maybe your mom's scared, posible in denial you have this!.If you can't talk to your dad & if he doesn't help, talk to your teacher & the school nurse!.!.

Have asthma too,not fun ehWww@Answer-Health@Com

If you use albuterol, you should probably use it when you feel tight in the chest area!. When you have an asthma attack, you will know it!. It is ten times harder to do normal things, like walking up the stairs!. Your mom needs to know that this is a serious matter, and if you want to go to the doctor, you should!. People die from these attacks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
