There are many different brands of insulin, some of which are fast-acting, some medium-acting, and some which are long-acting!. This, I believe, is what cutedimples was referring to!. (You can easily tell the difference between fast-acting insulin, which is clear !.!.!. it looks like water, and longer acting insulins!. These tend to be cloudy in appearance, and need to be shaken gently before being drawn up into a syringe!.)

As has been said, the pharmacy need to know which type of insulin your friend will be using, and amounts, due to the fact that they'll be able to offer better advice/guidance!.

If your friend has just been diagnosed, I can't envisage any reason whatsoever for him/her not to have been given the relevant information before sending him/her on their way!. Insulin doses are nothing to be trifled with!. Not enough insulin being administered can lead to your friend ending up in hospital in a diabetic coma (severe hyperglycemia), and too much can lead to your friend being admitted in insulin shock (severe hypoglycemia)!. Both of these conditions can lead to death if not dealt with appropriately!.

If your friend is not sure what insulin, and what doses of insulin s/he is meant to be taking, get right back on to the doctor and find out!. This is important!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if u have ur prescription for insulin it should have the information they are asking u for!.!. their are different kind of insulin!.!. two types u use together meaning mixing together in the needle!.!. and the is one that is already mix!.!. they need to know the units he will be using so the needles he gets has enough space for the units!.!. also as how often he needs insuling!.!. so they can give him all the needles he will need for a month!.!. i use it twice a day !.!.!.so i need to needles a day!.!. making 60 to 62 a month!.!. my needles hold alot units of insuling because i have to inject myself many units in the morning from to different vials!.!. this is the reason they need to know!.!. good luck!.!. if u have the prescription take it to them and they will know what to do!.!.!. good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

It is really nice of you to help your friend out!. However, maybe you should just purchase a gift card or certificate to the pharmacy for your friend!. Then let him go in and talk to the pharmacist about what kind of meds he is taking and how often!.

He may want 0!.3cc or 1/2cc syringes!. Your friend might like short needles vs!. long needles!. It all depends on him!. He may be on different insulins he can't mix!. So just let him go get what he needs with the gift card!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need a prescription to get insulin needles just as you need a prescription to get the insulin!. You can't just go to the pharmacy to get needles and syringes due to the use of them with illegal drugs!. Anyone who has a legitimate need for syringes will have a prescription for them!. The pharmacist doesn't need to know the type of insulin you have or the amount!. He is suspicious possibly suspicious of your need for the needles!. Get a prescription for insulin needles and syringes from your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

How does your friend know he needs insulin !?
I understand doctors are expensive but what did the doctor prescribe !?
Never, ever treat yourself without the advise of an endocrinologist!.
In my state, you can get syringes OTC without any questions!.But!.!. your friend needs to know how much to take and how to measure his diabetes!.
Something is fishy around here!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
