Would it be horrible!? Yes!. Would we all die - not at all!. I was born in 1974, and I was not vaccinated for smallpox; however, most people born before me were vaccinated against smallpox - my husband, who was born in 1970, was vaccinated!. So it could be disasterous for someone like me, who has 0% immunity to it through a vaccine!. But I would have to have been exposed to it first - and exposure does not guarantee infection!. Also, I would assume the govt would begin a mass innoculation for it - so the chances of getting it - or getting a bad case, would decrease!. I can't recall offhand, but there is such a thing as "immunoglobulin" which is a blood product that contains a lot of antibodies to whatever disease they are trying to fight!. They might be able to produce smallpox "immunoglobulin" as a way to lessen the severity of the illness from those who catch it!. The other thing to consider is smallpox has been around for eeons - the fact that you and I are here is a direct result that our ansesters either (1) caught the illness and fought it off or (2) we come from ansesters that have some natural immunity to it - so that might also keep it from being "disasterous!." I'd be more concerned with avian flu - that one is brand new and no one has immunity to it (that we know of)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Long ago, it was discovered that cow pox irradicated small pox!. Luckily, my own generation was given the small pox vaccine, right in elementary school!. I was born 1944, so the younger generation would really need to be vaccinated, as well!. I have a theory about the small pox vaccine, as well: Accidentally, I was given this small pox vaccine at my elementary school, although I had already been vaccinated!. I have noticed that my entire family gets fever blisters, but, I have never had one!. I'm the only one who was vaccinated twice the same year (in my family)!. When my neice had herpes in her eyes, she could not see well, her eyes hurt, and the light hurt far too badly for her!. I asked her mom to get her a small pox shot, and she managed to!. The herpes of the eyes disappeared!. (it's only MY theory)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The smallpox death rate is 30%!.

But bird flu so far is about 70% or more!. Worry about that instead!.

Oh baby, a plague would change our world bigtime!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
