Gestational Diabetes and Low morning blood sugar?!
Question: Gestational Diabetes and Low morning blood sugar!?
I was just diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes (32 weeks pregnant) and have been testing my sugars 4 times a day for a few days now, and have noticed that my first thing in the morning sugar is low ( less than 4 mmol) which is hypoglycemic!. Then I have breakfast of mostly protein (cheese and eggs) and my hour after breakfast blood sugar is high (above 8 mmol)!.
What can I do to raise my morning blood sugar without skyrocketing my after breakfast one!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have never seen it measured that way either!. I also have gestational diabetes!. Are you on insulin!? You should be eating a snack before bed that may help!.!. I looked up the mmol and a rough conversion to what we use in the states 4 mmol is normal for a pregnant person a non pregnant person that would be considered hypoglycemic!. As long as you feel fine and are not lightheaded or feeling badly I would talk to your dr on monday!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Be sure to have a snack before you go to bed!. It should be something such as a piece of fruit or some plain popcorn!.
Also, make sure to balance your breakfast between protein and carbohydrates!. Add a piece of toast or a bowl of cereal to your meal plan in the morning!. It will aid in keeping those sugar readings level!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've never seen a blood sugar tested in mmol, it's always mg/dl!.!. I don't know what the ranges for blood sugar is using mmol, but if you like peanut butter cracker eat some of them (try eating a few at a time) and see if that helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
