How long to recover from a general anaesthetic?!

Question: How long to recover from a general anaesthetic!?
I had grommets inserted under a general 2 days ago!. Out within 4 hours!. Still feel "odd" not quite with it and lethargic!. also having trouble sleeping!. Thought I'd be up and running by now!.

One thing, the hearing is great-too good-I almost need ear plugs to cope!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
it depends mainly of the anesthetic given and duration of exposure to anesthesia

the substance propofol used in anesthesia has a very rapid elimination time so in 1 hour the patient can walk alone freely!.

inhalational anesthetics like halothane dissolve in body fat and are released over a period of days

Succinyl choline if used can cause the muscle pain and lethargy you described

you still have few days still so that everything returns to the baseline as different anasthetics stay in the body for variable times although in minute amountsWww@Answer-Health@Com

it can take up to a few days maybe a week to feel back to normal after a general so plently of rest and take it easy and a good diet will all help get you feeling perky again!.!.!.!.!.!.

Hope you feel better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

In general good health, in two days time you would have got back to normal: but then it depends on past history, the dose administered etc!.! anyway, be careful, go slow, take your time! good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

has different effects on everyone-ive had it woken up and then gone to work 2 hours after but some are still having after effects days laterWww@Answer-Health@Com

I recovered after a few hours, but I spent several weeks not able to sleep for more than two hours at a time and had unrestful sleepWww@Answer-Health@Com

it could take a couple of weeks

alot depends on

previous anaesthetic
foods
excercise
current medicationWww@Answer-Health@Com
