Answers:
Extremely bad for health especially for diabetics

The list of reasons to stop smoking is long!. Smokers are at increased risk for cancer, emphysema, heart disease, stroke, and a host of other health troubles!.

Smoking can seriously shorten your life, all by itself!. But, if you have diabetes and you smoke, your risk for vascular problems, kidney disease, retinopathy and other complications of diabetes increases dramatically!. Not only does the risk go up, but existing complications can become worse, too

The benefits of quitting are dramatic!. Better blood glucose control means a lower A1C over time!. Better circulation, less resistance to insulin, decreased risk of diabetic complications, lower blood pressure, and lower cholesterol levels all help with your diabetes management!. Plus, in addition to all the other benefits, when you quit smoking, you just plain feel better!.

Ask yourself why you want to stop smoking!.

Go cold turkey!. Quitting all at once works for some people

Quit smoking gradually by cutting back over several weeks

Write your answers on a piece of paper and carry it with you!.

Use it to remind yourself of why you want to stop, whenever you feel like smoking!.

Fill out a "stop smoking contract" and have a family member or friend sign it!. Throw away all your cigarettes, lighters and ashtrays!.

Change your schedule to avoid circumstances in which you usually smoke!. Walk around the block or chew gum when you would normally be smoking!.

Put up "no smoking" signs in your house and work area, and even in your car!.

Prepare yourself to feel the urge to start smoking again!. The American Cancer Society suggests four ways to deal with the urge to smoke: delaying, deep breathing, drinking water and doing something else!.

Carry around "mouth toys" such as candy, gum, straws and carrot sticks!.

List the good things that have happened since you stopped, and keep the list with you wherever you go as an inspiration!.

Reward yourself for quitting; you could take the money you might have spent on cigarettes and buy yourself something nice!.

Hope this helps you!.

Oh, my goodness YES!!!!!

I quit recently after 20+ years of smoking!. It was extremely difficult even with all the products out now!. Even though I haven't touched a cigarette in over a month, I'm still coughing a lot!. Smoking deposits tar in your lungs, increases your risk of blood-vessel diseases (high blood pressure for example), and makes diabetes worse, among many other things!.

If you think you can quit, please do!. I used the nicotene lozenges for a while, but what is really helping me is prescription Chantix!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
