If you have diabetic neuropathy does that mean you are getting gangrene?!

Question: If you have diabetic neuropathy does that mean you are getting gangrene!?
Answers:
No, it means there has been some nerve damage from high blood sugar!. It is not from bad circulation!.
You get gangrene from a wound that does not heal!.
Keep your diabetes under good control so the neuropathy does not get worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, it doesn't mean that, and it has little to do with circulation (blood flow) either!. Neuropathy is damage to nerve-endings, sometimes, though not always, due to uncontrolled diabetes!.

Lack of circulation does prevent oxygen from reaching certain points within your body, which could lead to gangrene, but this is a totally separate issue to neuropathy!.

My advice to you, if you're diabetic, is to keep your blood sugar levels as near 'normal' (72-126 mg/dL or 4-7 mmol/l) as you possibly can!. This means all the time, too, not just for some of the time!.

Best of luck to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not necessarily but, if your accustomed to infections due to diabetes then your a good candidate for it, Gangrene takes days to accrue, keep you eye on the infection and if it persists over a period of a few days, see a doctor or go to an ER, when it happens, it's sometimes fast acting and you shouldn't take chances!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, it doesn't!. My father, a diabetic, suffers neuopathic pain in his feet, a strong burning & prickling sensation, but is limited to the meds he can take coz of his bad heart!. His doctor recommended he try magnetic therapy garments & fir therapy socks to boost circulation which help him a lot!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no!.That just means that you have less blood flow to th area!. It could to sores and if not treated properly, gangrene then amputation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
