Sounds like an infection - perhaps conjuctivitis!. Your doctor will be able to confirm what it is, and if it is infected, prescribe you antibiotics and eyedrops!.
In the mean time, you could try flushing it out every few hours with a saline solution (buy this from the chemist - or you probably already have some for cleaning your contacts)!. This is a neutral wash that will clean the area and prevent further irritation until you geta professional to look at it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I suffer from this and it could well be a condition called Iritis, which I have!. If you look in a certain direction the eye hurts and often 'shoots back' to where it's more comfortable!?
It's not an infection but inflammation of the coloured part of your eye (iris) you just need to visit your local eye hospital or if you can't make it to there then any out patient hospital will do and they will prescribe various eye drops to clear it up!.
Have a look here and I bet all your symptoms are the same!.!.!.
