Tell the doctor exactly what you just detailed here!. This will help him/her to focus your pain meds!. Otherwise, it will be assumed you are doing just fine with percocet and lortab!.
You might do best with some variant meds!. First, I would suggest replacing the scheduled opiate with a scheduled NSAID, such as Naprosyn!. I would even consider Celebrex -- there have been studies that show it works as almost well as opiates for post surgical pain!. [You may hear a storm of protest from folks who think Celebrex will give you a stroke or heart attack!. They will be referring to the VIGOR study which proved that a medicine called Vioxx caused a slight but rise in the relative risk, but not in the absolute risk!. That is Vioxx, this is Celebrex]
Second, after scheduling Naprosyn or Celebrex, you may still need an opiate for breakthrough pain!. I would consider using an agonist/antagonist form, such as Nubain or Methadone!. These still knock out pain, but are far less likely to 'get you high'!.
