Question: My 2yr old daughter has an ear infection in both ears,!?
She started on antibiotics yesterday for this!. She is extremely congested, but today she has had so much draining from her eyes!. Like yellowish stuff!. Of coarse I called her doctor, and she said that it is due to all of her congestion!. Both eyes are affected!. I love her ped, but you know they are practicing doctor!. Does anyone agree with the doctor, or have any other ideas!? My hubby says it doesn't look like pink eye, but he's not a doctor only a firefighter!. Help please!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

In young children, the eyes, ears and nose are interconnected!. When they have a cold or any nasal congestion, their eyes and even their ears would have a discharge too!.
Your antibiotics can help control the infection!. Decongestants may help unclog!. Clean the eyes with warm water only!. You can also massage the area between the nose and the eyes to encourage better drainage!. Encourage her also to drink more fluids so it would help her circulation!. In 2-3 days time you should see an improvement!. If you have been giving the antibiotics for 3 days and there's no change, bring her back to her pedia!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm a mother of three and when my kids get this congested they are put on an antibiotic, decongestant prescribed or over the counter medicine, and they get prescribed eye drops for their eyes!. Pink eye can be caused by several different things and I would definitely take her to see the doctor!. It sounds like her snot is running out of her eyes gross I know!. My kids have had this problem several times and the eye drops clear it up right away!. Until you get to the doctor I would use a warm wash cloth to keep the eyes clean and to keep them from sticking shut!. Good luck I hope she gets better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
