Question: Chances of HIV infection!?
I might be a hypochondriac, but I was just wondering what other people thought!.
About 3 1/2 months ago I gave unprotected oral sex (w/ ejaculation) to a boyfriend!. He was not a virgin, and has had sex with 2 people!. THe first was a monogamous relationship, and they were both complete virgins, therefore disease free!. The second girl he had sex with, I don't know about!. She was not a virgin, and he gave her unprotected oral sex and had sex with her twice, but used a condom!. Neither of them has been told that they are HIV positive, I'm assuming neither has been tested!.
What are the chances that I could get HIV from giving him oral sex, I guess the real question is that I'm wondering if he was likely to have it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Chances of getting HIV through oral sex are pretty low, unless you have open sores or cuts in your mouth!.
Assuming the condoms didn't break, chances of him having HIV are pretty low, too!. If used properly, condoms are more than 99% effective against HIV!. Unless he had cuts on his penis and she had cuts/sores in her mouth, it is very difficult for him to get HIV from receiving oral sex!.
So you're pretty safe, but it never hurts to get tested (but you have to wait a few months to be tested because the antibodies won't show up)!. And be careful in the future!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is no good way to know!. The best solution is to only have protected sex until you are in a serious long term monogamous relationship where you've both been tested!. For now the only thing you can do is get tested every six months (it can take time for HIV to show positive after infection!.) It is pretty unlikely that you were infected from your one encounter with him though even if he was HIV positive!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
1!. you are just as likely to get it from oral sex as vaginal, but only with ejaculation or pre-ejaculation (HIV is spread through blood, which is present in semen)

The risk goes up every time you have unprotected sex, although once is enough!. Just because you know his history does not make it safe, get regular tests and actually practice safe sex!. There are STD's that can be transmitted even when using condoms, example HPV which can lead to cervical cancer!. I am not going to sugar coat it, the only way to know is to test and please be careful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
