Mono help?!
Question: Mono help!?
My girlfriend said she had been feeling sick for the last 2+ weeks, so they went to check it out at the Docs!. A week ago is when i kissed her last, half way through this week she calls and says she has mono!. So i have felt perfect for the last couple of days and i still do!. i asked around and my teachers husband has mono and she doesnt and they still kiss!. So what id like to know is what are the odds that i have it, and if i do have it how long will it take until i start to feel the symptoms (i looked them up, so far i have none and i feel fine)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Mono is called the "kissing disease" because you can get it from kissing someone or just from being in close proximity to someone else who has it!. You don't necessarily need to kiss someone with it!. I got it in 10th grade and had NO symptoms!. I only found out because my brother got tested and they tested me too!. I was surprised!. (and I hadn't been kissing anyone at that time, so I got it from being around classmates with it)
Apparently the incubation period is 4-6 weeks!. So it takes a while before you'll notice symptoms!. It depends on chance whether or not you'll get mono!. Once you have it the virus remains in your body for the rest of your life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
