Having a healthy diet is very important if you are at high risk for diabetes!. Make sure you eat lots of vegetables and fruits!. Eat non-starchy vegetables such as spinach, carrots, broccoli or green beans with meals!. Choose non-fat dairy such as skim milk, non-fat yogurt and non-fat cheese!. Make sure to cut back on high calorie snack foods and desserts like chips, cookies, cakes, and full-fat ice cream!. These are just a few things to keep in mind when planning your meals!. A good diet should go along with exercise at least three times a week!. A lot of the top endos in the country are recommending the South Beach Living phase 2 food plan or the Atkins Diabetes Revolution food plan!.

People who haven't compared the two plans, SBL and Atkins don't realize that there is mostly no difference in them!.

We do not have to go strictly by the book on this!. We can tweek either plan with our own bodies!. If a food makes our glucose spike, we can have less of it less often or eliminate it from the plan entirely!.

Do be sure to plan in a "cheat treat" every week or so!. It helps keep us on track and sane!. And you can't just eliminate all foods or carbs for the day in anticipation of eating the whole carton of Breyers by your self!!! Have just a small serving or a half serving of the goodie!.

Exercise is the real key to controlling glucose!. The more movement you do during the day, the easier it is to control the glucose!.

Much good luck to you! I really don't want to admit you to my exclusive little club unless I must!! Try hard to stay away!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just don't overdo the carbs and you can eat whatever you want!.

Aim for about 90-100 carbs a day if you want to lose weight, or 120-130 if you just want to avoid diabetes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to see an nutritionist who specialized in diabetes!. Your endocrinologist probably has a recommendation for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
