I'm sorry to have to welcome you to "The Heartbreak of Psoriasis" Club! I've been a member of the "club" for 10 years now!. My advice to you is to go to The National Psoriasis Foundation website!. It is a fountain of information about psoriasis, the drugs used to treat it, even alternative medicine treatments!. (Or, if you love the Brits, you can try their site, Psoriasis Help Organization--I actually prefer their forums)!. There are forums to join where you can ask questions and read other people's questions, and trust me, if you sit down and take the time to do it, you will learn a lot!.

Everyone with psoriasis reacts differently to treatment; for instance, I know someone who does well with tanning beds, but they don't help clear me up at all!. Some people think a restrictive diet helps them, but that did nothing but frustrate me!. I personally take the really big guns: Remicade and Methotrexate, and I'm 99% clear---I used to be 70% COVERED in psoriasis! Go to the websites, read up on treatments, pick some things you'd like to try, and get started!. Give the drugs or alternative methods time (like, 3 months or more) before you decide whether or not you like the way it's working---some things take time to work!. And don't get too discouraged!. You may have to try a dozen or more different things before you find something you think works for you!. If you ever need someone to talk to about it, go ahead and send me a message!. I'm considered by my doctor and insurance company as SEVERE--I've been around the block a few times with this!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My husband has psoriasis!. The tanning beds really are a good thing for people with psoriasis!. The UV light works wonders!. Over the years my husband has built up an immunity to most of the medications for psoriasis but the tanning bed keeps it in check!. A couple times a week is really all thats needed!. Some insurance companies will even pay for a tanning bed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Foods high in folic acid!. My mom had psoriasis & when she started taking folic acid, hers got 90% better right away & has since gone away!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well foods do not affect psoriasis !.!. the tanning bed i think would be good since they tell my dad to sit in the sun to help reduce his psoriasis ! and he uses alot of creams and ointments too good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
