My 5 year old has a heart murmur, Dr isn't worried. What is a heart murmur?!
Question: My 5 year old has a heart murmur, Dr isn't worried!. What is a heart murmur!?
Answers:
A heart murmur is a sound that is caused by an imperfect function of one of the heart's valves!. In children, they are often transient (come and go)!. There are different types and degrees and most physicians can tell a great deal by just listening!. If doc isn't concerned you should try not to be!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If the doctor heard a murmur, he should have referred you to a pediatric cardiologist for an EKG, and echo!. The murmer can be a hole, or a heart valve defect!.
I would definitely have it checked out!. Im not saying it's bad, but a normal PED shouldn't just wave it off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your pediatrician is qualified to detect an innocent murmur and unless you have reason to mistrust him/her, I would not worry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
