I had this done, it's not as bad as it sounds!. This is what I had to do!.!.!.!.I had to drink stuff to clean me out the day before, they made me lay on a normal looking table and put what looked like an ice pack under my kidneys and on my stomach!. Then they put me under (general anesthesia)!. Then a large instrument came over my body and it sounded like clicking noises and it looked like a strobe light!. After they were done (I'm sure by using monitors they saw it was 'blasted') and they woke me up, I was in recovery for probably 1/2 hour then I got up and went home!. I was then told to strain my pee for the next week to see if there were any fragments that I could find to send to the lab to see what caused my kidney stone!. I did that for a week but never found anything!. The reason I knew what was happening after they knocked me out because I watched a video my urologist gave me before the procedure and they showed you what they do!.
