The "purple" color could be from an injury or illness problem causing a "bleed" deeper in your system that causes the blood to turn deep purple, or black looking due to clotting!. Shallow bleeds, like from hemmoroids, or diverticular polyps would be bright red, due to it being fresh blood!. The purple blood could be the sign of a real problem!.
