Do you think it would be OK to talk to a boss at work about a drug problem if yo!

Question: Do you think it would be OK to talk to a boss at work about a drug problem if you wanted help !?
Answers:
I'd say no - don't talk to your boss unless you want to get fired!. Many companies have employee assistance programs that provide confidential counseling - usually at no charge!. Even though the company may have the conselors on their payroll or subcontract with them, the counselors cannot tell your supervisor why you are seeking help!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it depends on your personal relationship with your boss and the line of work you're in!. Also it depends on what you are asking for!.!.!. time off!? help with finding a treatment center!? Money!?

I work at a salon and had a colleague with a drug problem!. Our boss not only found a treatment center for her, but also paid for half!. However, in this case the user was a longtime employee and very much valued at the workplace!. Also keep in mind that this also turned into a public event for the user being all the other employees found out!.

You also need to keep in mind if your work has any policies such as "zero tolerance" where admitting drug use results in automatic dismissal!.

I think all said, you just need to use your best judgment!. Wish you the best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most workplaces have, as part of their medical coverage, mental health benefits!. Addiction is covered under such benefits and is kept confidential!. Check to see if your company has this before talking with your boss!. (some are called Employee Assistance Program) Many people fear those who have an addiction, even if it is illegal!. Look into NA or AA too!. These programs have save millions!. I have been in recovery for over 15 yrs, so I applaud your efforts!Www@Answer-Health@Com

not sure if they could let you keep the job if you do that!. I would suggest going to your doctor first for treatment, then after you have started treatment, if you need to explain to your boss why you may have to miss work, maybe tell your boss then!. I still think its a huge risk of losing your job though!. Good luck to you and I wish you the bestWww@Answer-Health@Com
