My mother smoked her whole life from the age of 18 till her death at 70, she didn't have cancer, but did have emphysema, But on the other side, I had a friend who started smoking when she was 14, at the age of 35 she went in the hospital for pnuemonia, was diagnosed for lung cancer, this was in july, she died in october leaving a 18 year old daughter, a 15 year old son, who lived with their father, and even worse she left behind a 4 year old girl, from a second marriage, the father of this baby was dead!. The little girl had been brought up by the boyfriend since she was 6 months old, and he had to go to court for his "daughter"!. Cancer is a vicious disease, and if you have any one in your life you want to see grow up, don't smoke and take the chance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
No set amount of time!. Second hand smoke increases the chances more than first hand but both can cause cancer!. Many people don't find out they even have it until they are in late stages which is why it kills so fast!. I know a girl that smoked for 6 months and got it but she was also around a lot of second hand smoke!. I know some that smoked most of their lives and lived into their 70's and 80's without showing any signs of cancer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
not to sure but its more about how much people smoke, if you are mostly in a smoking area and exposed to the smoke plus you are a smoker e!.g!. smoking about 20 or more a day your risks are quite high i should assume!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My dad has been smoking for 30 years he doesn't have cancer!. My uncle smoked for 45 years he got cancer and recently died!. He smoked 4 packs a dayWww@Answer-Health@Com
