plz tell all u know!. thanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
An EKG or electrocardiogram traces the electrical current through your heart!. That is all that it can show!. A Cardiologist can interpret an EKG to diagnose different conditions by seeing where the electrical pattern slows down or orriginates from!.There are some conditions such as cardiac ishchemia (not enough oxygen reaching your heart muscle) or myocardial infarction (heart attack) that will show on an EKG!. However if you have a blockage in a coronary artery that is not yet affecting the heart muscle it will not show on an EKG!. Any condition that has not yet affected the electrical conductivity of the muscle will not show on an EKG!. In many cases EKG changes are late symptoms after damage has occurred or is occurringWww@Answer-Health@Com

EKGs are excellent for
1) Persistent heart rhythm problems
2) Certain kinds of heart attacks
3) A wide variety of electrolyte problems, congenital heart problems, problems of heart muscle, etc!.

EKGs are of limited value for
1) Intermittent heart rhythm problems which may be missed when you take the EKG
2) Other kinds of heart attacks
3) Some kinds of heart muscle problems!.

Basically, in the right context, an EKG can be extremely useful in confirming a diagnosis or ruling out a severe problem!. A large fraction of problems, however, require serial exams or other studies to diagnose!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
