Sugar substitute for frozen (ice in a blender fruit juice) drinks?!

Question: Sugar substitute for frozen (ice in a blender fruit juice) drinks!?
One of my favorite treats involves taking some cranberry or grapefruit juice, ice, and some sugar, and blending!. The sugar keeps the ice from clumping -- this is true whether you making this recipe, or similar things like blended iced coffee drinks!. Milk helps to keep things smooth, but milk also is high in sugars -- I'm diabetic, so I'm trying to make some delicious icy drinks in the blender, but without all the sugar!. I'm wondering if something like gelatin powder might be worth trying - but before I start to experiment, I thought I would ask to see if anyone else had any ideas -- a search on the web didn't seem to find anything useful!.

So to clarify: I'm looking for very-low-sugar/very-low-calorie replacement for sugar for drinks blended in a blender using ice!. Examples of things that won't work are: sugar-free sweeteners like equal (they don't solve the texture problem), milk (which is actually high in sugar)!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
There is a product called "ThickenThin Not/Sugar" made by Expert Foods which sounds like what you're looking for!. It's pretty expensive though!.

See this site:
http://www!.expertfoods!.com/notSugar!.php

Description:
"ThickenThin not/Sugar thickener is not a sweetener, it is a thickener that gives the texture of sugar to many sugar-free foods, and can be used with the sweetener of your choice!. Use ThickenThin not/Sugar thickener to get that sugary mouthfeel in beverages, jams, cookies and cakes!."

I've tried it, and it works, but I've since switched to just using Xanthan gum instead, which is cheaper and seems to work jut as well!. Guar gum should also work!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you can juice apples, especially golden delicious, you can use that to sweeten your fruit drinks!. Peaches also work!. But remember that fruit is also high in natural sugars!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The only things I can think of that you could try are Stevia or Splenda!. I don't know if either will prevent the clumping!. You can purchase Stevia at a health food store, some grocery stores carry it, or GNC!. It's safe for diabetics!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
