Metastases indicates the cancer has spread away from the tumor!. This is why chemo is your treatment option, as opposed to surgery or radiation!.
As to what types of chemotoxins will be used or survival rates, I don't know!. I didn't have that type of cancer!.
I had a teratocarcinoma which metastasized and spread all over my skeleton, lungs and lymphatics!. I had surgery, radiation and chemo for 5 years!. All together I had 8 different kinds of chemo!.
Early on my chances were zero!. But, 12 years later here I am! =)
If this is about you, then ask your doctor(s) just what sort of chemo(s) you'll be getting!. Meanwhile, look it up on the net!. Check in Wikipedia, as it has a pretty thorough listing of chemotoxins!.
