The A1c is more like a byproduct of high blood sugar!. So it measures your glycosolation levels that result from high sugars!. Normal levels are anything below 6!.2 I think!. Undiagnosed diabetes levels are like 12+!. You can usually buy a lab order kit for 25$ from Walmart!. You drip a couple of drops of blood and send it and get results!. Better than waiting three hours at the doctor's office!. A1c can also tell you if you need to adjust your insulin levels!.
