Question: Im going to be getting radiation on my brain tumor, side effects, tips from anybody out there!?

I am currently under going radiation for my brain tumor, the side effects are not that bad!. you may feel tired for two or three weeks into your treatment!. The way to cope with that is when you get home take a nap, if you have home physical therapy, keep doing them!. try to stay active it is helping me !. The only side effect that can't be stopped is the hair loss!. Have your doctor write a prescription for a wig!. Eat foods that are low in fat content, and salt content as possible that will keep headaches to a minimum!. I hope this helps you!. This is info from my attending doctors and nurses!. I'm guessing you had the bulk of the tumor removed surgically already, and you feel pretty okay now!.
Generally speaking, radiation therapy makes people feel weak and tired and may give you a headache!. Radiation kills blood cells too, so you may get weak from that, and may eventually even need a blood transfusion!.
The technology is getting better at targeting the specific area of the brain, so maybe you won't have too many bad side effects!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
