Question: Spat out blood!? What should I do!? Not from my mouth!. !?
Last night whilst brushing my teeth I spat out blood!. I then checked my mouth and it wasn't from there and came from my throat!. I'm not sure if it's a cut on my throat or if it came from my stomach!. It was about a thumbnail about!. Should I do anything!? I felt fine, just worried!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

As its happened just once, i wouldn't be overly concerned, if it happens again try your General Practitioner for investigation!.

as you were brushing your teeth, it may be possible it came from the gum line, impossible to view without special light and instruments!.
As for the possibility it came from your throat, this may happen, there are many blood vessels in the throat, which can bleed if scratched or burst following pressure from retching etc!. again, not worrying as these are common!.
for the stomach possibility, usually blood from the stomach is released in great amount and a darker colour due to acidity of the stomach!.

Sometimes your gums bleed, it usually means that you are brushing too hard, and usually it doesn't show if you look for it since you are rinsing your mouth and things!. Otherwise you could have been getting a nose bleed, since your nose and mouth are connected the blood that bleeds from your nose will also go down your throat and out your mouth, you may be been getting one and then spat out the extra that had been stuck in your throat - if that makes sense!. But this happens to me all the time, If more blood is being spat out or coughed up when you are not brushing your teeth, then i would be worried but since it is just when brushing your teeth, No i wouldn't worry at all!. If you have a cold lately, and you have been coughing, then it will be blood from a raw patch at the back of your throat!. Nothing to worry about at all, and it will clear itself up in a short amount if time!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
Blood that comes from your stomach is not red it is brownish or black!. It was most likely from brushing and your gums started bleeding!. Try to use some antiseptic mouth rinse to prevent gum disease!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
Keep an eye on it and if it happens again consider going to the doctors, it could be your gums bleeding from plaque (usually happens after not brushing properly for a few days)Www@Answer-Health@Com
