Answers:
I'm certainly no doctor, but I know a little about the liver since I had liver failure followed with a liver transplant and doing well today!. In my opinion, taking the antibiotic is safe with Hep C!. Your liver can actually function very well for a long time which means it can process the drugs!. Even when I only had 10% function left and was in the end stage of liver disease, I still took meds that had to be processed in the liver since everything you take pretty much gets processed through the liver in one way or another!. Different drugs break down in different places though, but all go through the liver from what I understand even though they may not break down there!. I never had any problems with antibiotics!.

If your Hep C has not progressed to cirrhosis, then you liver will have no problem with the drug!. Even with cirrhosis, I don't believe there would be a problem!. I hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Did the doctor treating you for Hep C prescribe the antibiotic!? If not, ask the doctor who is treating your Hep C for a second opinion!. Even if the doctor treating your Hep C did prescribe the antibiotic, you may want to get a second opinion!. I would recommend that you seek a second opinion from another doctor, rather than random people on YA, who may not have enough knowledge of the situation to give you an appropriate opinion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
