Is pain while urinating normal after appendics surgery 5 days ago? If so when will it go away?Please help.?
My 11 yr. old son had his appendics taken out 5 days ago, It was the Laproscopic( sorry about the spelling) with 3 little cuts on his stomach. He has pain when he urinates, Is that normal? When will he be back to normal again? The surgery went fine, He was in and out of the hospital 22 hours later. We have him walking because that is good for him, the doctor said. He feels pain when he pees he says to me, Is that Normal? He does not complain of his incesion areas hurting. The little tape the doctor put on them is coming off, we just try to cover it up again so it do get infected, with that same tape.

I would go with Mary's answer - I would also give her the points if I were you. However I would tell the MD about the pain on the next followup visit and if it gets worse or continues I would call him.
I also would not worry about using the same tape the doctor put on if it comes off - you can replace it with a large band-aid or a gauze square and tape.
