FUSION OF LUNG after surgery??!

Question:

FUSION OF LUNG after surgery??

My husband had surgery on his heart a few days ago. Yesterday he was having severe chest pains and was admitted back into the hospital. The doctor mentioned fusion in the lung. Could that be from the breathing tube from when he was sedated? I haven't been able to talk to the dr. personally cause I am at home caring for our kids. My husband is on pain killers and has only been at the hospital for a few hours so he barely knows either. Any idea as to what this is??

Answers:

You need to ask the doctor or the nurse.

There are not enough information. What type of heart surgery was it? Breathing tube from surgery? How long was the surgery and how long he was on ventilator? Does he have fever or not?

Effusion mean fluid. You can have fluid around the heart (pericardial effusion), around the lung (pleural), or in the lung (pulmonary). Each type has different causes and different treatment.

You need to get a babysitter and go see the doctor to talk face to face so they can explain to you in person what's wrong with your husband. It is much easier that way.
