Life expectancy and copd?!

Question:

Life expectancy and copd?

I am 25 and have been diagnosed with copd. up until just recently i was as healthy as a horse. I just don't understand. I smoked but not everyday, just on weekends out with friends, but i have always had bad allergies. what is the real life expectancy for me being that I'm only 25.

Answers:

I can't remember what its caused but there is a type of COPD that is congential. You are predisposed to it from birth. With appropiate cre you should have a good life. You need to see a pumologist. Your Dr. will recommend one for you. You will need to have pulmonary function tests (where you breathe into a machine and they monitor the airflow and the oxygen contents) and be on appropiate medicine. See a pumologist as soon as possible. If you can go to a medical school for care, they are the most up to date. I drive 3 hours one way to see my pulmologist. Hes at the medical school.
