Dying Heart?!

Question:

Dying Heart?

I am 37 yo man, smoker-non drinker I lay down at night to sleep-can't on my side for longer than 4-10 minutes before I feel tightness in my chest grow-not painful, just disconcerting. I can only fall asleep on my stomach, otherwise feel good except for nagging cough-I am not going to quit smoking so while that may be the cause of something-I KNOW THAT...Real help, please.

Answers:

Actually it could be your smoking. This might be a lung discomfort rather than having anything to do with your heart. It might be related to your digestive track, hypertension, or even your gall bladder. You really do need to be evaluated by a doctor. You don't want to take a chance on having an untreated condition at your age. You are young and have a whole life ahead of you. See the doctor. Let him yell at you for smoking. He might even have something that can help you quit. But get evaluated. Don't die from a treatable condition.
Be blessed and take care of yourself. You only have one life.
