Might have herpes?? Let me know what you think?!

Question:

Might have herpes?? Let me know what you think?

ok so a week ago I was experiencing uncomfortableness in my rear area and it was slightly red, it appeared to be a rash so I went to the dr to check it out. He then said I had a few clusters which could be herpes. It never burnt when I peed, but I did have a swollen gland in my "groin" area. So he prescribed me valtrex but I dont know if I even have herpes bc test results arent back yet. Now my rear area is almost back to normal but my vagina is SUPER itchy and irritated, its swollen and makes it uncomfortable for me to walk around. But there dont appear to be any bumps or lesions, just irritation. Does this sound like herpes to you or something else???

Answers:

Fist off, you did the right thing by going to your doctor. To me it does sound like you have herpes.

What are the symptoms of genital herpes?
Genital HSV can cause no symptoms in many individuals, whereas others may get itching, tingling
or pain in the genital area followed by blisters or sores. An initial infection may be quite severe with
multiple blisters that become shallow ulcers. Herpes can sometimes cause pain or difficulty passing
urine, muscular aches, headache and fever. Recurrences are always milder than the primary infection
and do not occur in all individuals, particularly following a genital HSV1 infection. Women tend to
get herpes on the vulva, cervix, buttocks or anus and men anywhere on the penis, buttocks or anus.
Both can get lesions in the pubic hair near the genitalia. The signs of herpes may not always be typical
blisters or ulcers and may not be easy to recognise, therefore visiting a doctor for examination
and testing is important in establishing the diagnosis.

You should get your test results back in about a week. Did he take a swab of the area? Do blood test’s? Just make sure they tested for both type 1 and type 2 herpes.
