Question:

Hiv counselor said low chance, should i be worried?

i spoke to an hiv counselor about the possibility that i have contracted hiv from a sexual encounter. she said there was a low chance. should i be worried?

Answers:

If you believe that you have or might have been exposed, you need to be tested. Any counselor that tells you there is low risk and does not advise an HIV test does not need to be a counselor.

There is always a risk. If you have unprotected sex, you put yourself at risk for not only HIV but numerous other STDs. To be on the safe side, you should be tested "across the board". Also, go buy some condoms and keep some with you for those impulsive moments.

Get tested!!
