Why does liver do this to me?!

Question:

Why does liver do this to me?

I VERY rarely ever get sick from foods. I have eaten many things that most would find discusting...but why is it when I am face to face with liver...it's like something reaches down my throat and pulls my stomach out. The smell is the worst...it smells like dog breath mixed with colgulated blood. One time I was blind folded and my nose pinched and I had to eat foods. I ate raw eggs...the texture was gross but it was okay...and I ate liver and my stomach did that thing again. My body HATES liver...Could I possibly be allergic to liver?

"Why would you want to eat liver if you have such a severe reaction to it? You don't have an allergy to it, you just don't like it. "

Hello, thanks for replying :) I usually like to find ways of acquiring taste. For example I used to hate "Fermented Beans" AKA Nato until I learned how to like the salty savory and now I love it. I even like the smell now. But liver...everytime I try my body reacts to it big time.

Answers:

It may be the way your stomach acid works
on it to be digested. Many people have problems with Green Peppers cause it tends
to stay in the stomach and they say they
can taste it all night long. It also might be
because of the way it is cooked.

You could try this, don't know if it will help.
Soak the liver in salt water till all the blood
comes out. Drain the liver and rinse it
in fresh water to get rid of the salt. Then
roll it in flour and place in an pan with some
oil on the bottom and fry it. When it is
almost done, place your cut onions on top
and add some water and then cover for just
a few minutes. The browned flour on
the liver should make a gravy like broth that
will coat the liver and the onions will start
to be opaque.

Usually, this will take the strong odor and
strong taste out of the liver and you might
tend to like it better if it only has a slight
taste instead of the taste of the dried up
blood in it.

Hope this helps.
