Erythromycin injection?????????????!

Question: Erythromycin injection!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Can you take erythromycin at home by injection into a vein or muscle!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
no!.

there would be no way for you to get the IV form of this drug!. It would not be kept at any retail pharmacy!. You would have to get it from a hospital supplier or hospital pharmacy!.

you could never inject it into your muscle!. you would cause GREAT harm to the muscle!. Erytrho has never been used IM, and is not approved for that use!.

Into a vein, even if you could get it - would be VERY unwise!. It is very caustic to veins - meaning that you'd be guaranteed to get phlebitis from it!. And in 2008, there is ALWAYS a better drug choice for EVERY infection than erythromycin!.

Off the top of my head I can't think of ANY infection for which erythromycin would be the drug of choice!. Even legionella infections have NOT been treated with this drug for 10 years now!. Azithromycin, moxifloxacin, would be far better choices!.

Bottom line - through mere logistics alone, you will not be able to buy this drug IV , with the necessary tubing to give it to yourself, at least not in the United States, and even if you could, you would not want to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why woudl you want to do this!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
