Why do bug bites itch?!
Question:
Why do bug bites itch?
Answers:
While the idea of "poison" is a popular notion in regard to insect bites it is incorrect. When an insect bites you it leaves behind some of it's saliva which humans are allergic to. Because you have been bitten many times since you were a child, you have developed antibodies and the body fights this with histamine. That is why taking an "anti"histamine will help with the itching. Spider bites do not get into the blood stream, the type of reaction to a spider bite depends entirely on the type of spider.
