What could cause a person to not be able to breath - when the catscan of the lungs came back showing no problems?

The same thing happens to me. You can't see anything on a CT scan, but I have trouble breathing and my oxygen level drops. Talk to your doctor about checking you out for reactive airway disease, asthma, or restrictive lung disease. They may also want to test you for stress or anxiety, which can also pass for a respiratory problem since you may feel short of breath.
