Combination hiccup, belch, burp continually and painfully?!

Question:

Combination hiccup, belch, burp continually and painfully?

My daughter has a problem of a combination hiccup, belch, burp after eating...sometimes even when she hasn't eaten for a few hours. It is very painful for her and doesn't seem to be triggered by any particular foods or quantity of foods. We can just be walking along and it starts. Sometimes it is extremely loud! We haven't talked to the doctor yet, but it is becoming more frequent the older she gets. She is 14. Does anyone know what causes this? How to stop it?

Answers:

It sounds like it might be gastroesophegeal reflux disease. There is and over production of acid in the stomach, the belching/hiccup are the gas being released, the burning sensation is the acid traveling up the throat. See a doctor, they may prescribe meds, if you want try and antacid. i use mylanta
