When I was first diagnosed with type ll, I could control it with diet only!.
Then I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant and was told I had a 70% chance of having it full blown inside of 5 years from then!.
I was put on oral medication exactly 5 years from then!.
Now I have passed 50 years old (barely) but my family on my dad's side all had diabetes type ll after they hit 45 on up, and was on insulin shots because they wouldn't control it!.
I recently had to go on Lantus shots which I take 1 in 24 hours added to my oral medication!. And just last week, had oral medication dropped because of diarrhea, and ended up fighting hyperglycemia, which is high blood sugar!. So they have added oral medication, Lantus shot increase, and insulin shots before each meal, and the fact that I have always had to watch what I ate!. I know that I feel pretty overwhelmed right now even though I've had some type of this problem half of my life now, because it used to be hypoglycemia, which is low blood sugar, and now it is the complete opposite!. (see above hyperglycemia definition)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its combination of diet and exercise!. But Its depends how high is your sugar!. If the level is high even you have regular exercise and diet, then you may need some oral medication!. But insulin injection is the last case!. Even you cant control by oral medicine, you might need injection!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

A combination of diet (for me, I need to lose weight, so DIET lol), exercise (walk one mile a day), oral meds when I consume calories and Lantus insulin once daily!. The doctor says he thinks I can go off the insulin when I get down to my "fightin' weight"!. I hope so, this month marks two years of insulin injections!.!.!.

It's a combination of diet and exercise!. No meds, no insulin!. I've posted a complete (and concise) blog on how I went from five years of trial and error while on medication to being medication free since last December right here: http://www!.geocities!.com/seabulls69/Type!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
